Television, is it for teaching or for deception?

I was reading an article in an Islamic website, which hit me into something that I usually do as a habit to kill most of my time, and still doing it! This is about watching television. For how many years, I have been so hooked up watching anime, and some other TV programs that could possibly entertain me. I love watching them because it gave me the feeling that I couldn’t experience in the real life. However, I didn’t realize the effect of too much consumption of this action until I got myself to the point of being locked up in a disorder that I didn’t even know it exist! From the articles which I have read, the following statements were being pointed out:

· television is like a drug
· when people sit down to watch TV, particularly for long periods, they tend to be in low moods
· The longer they watch, the less able they are to concentrate.
· As time goes on, they grow sadder, lonelier, more irritable, and more hostile.
· Television is a good tool for manipulating, not for teaching.

           Thinking about my observation, Television do really have a bad effect on its viewers. I wouldn’t deny that this kind of entertainment were somewhat helpful, but there should be a limitation that must be set up in relation to this. Watching TV, and spending longer in front of computer ads up more isolation within you and become more self-centered person. There is no real interaction with the society, all we have is our self and the idiot box in front of us, and this type of action were dangerous. A statement were also being stated in the article I was reading that caught my attention to and this was stated as follows;

“Television can titillate, it cannot teach. It can bring images into our heart, not ideas into our mind. It appeals to the emotions, not the intellect.”

So, most probably watching TV, its main point was attracting the emotion of one’s individual while the brain is stock up and become more stagnant! One’s a heart become so crumpled, and destroyed within, most probably it will cause a very obvious side effect, and this thing could possibly leads to negative side effects. As an individual, I could possibly agree on this part! Television is more or less for deception, and not for an ideal of teaching!

When the hearts goes way out!

Have you ever felt that there is something missing in your life? Something that you are looking for, but unfortunately you don’t know where to start? As for me, I always feel this. I was then at home, when I feel this urge again. Sadness suddenly squeezed me, and my heart weighted like it was poured a lot of stone inside of it. While I was then browsing, I saw a status posted by Queenie Padilla:

“Offering Salah (Prayer) is good thing but the best thing is to offer it with great concentration (Kushu) and it can only be attain by giving Dawah, visiting Islamic gatherings, listening reminders and reciting Quran. There is no more Kushu in our prayers that is why even praying hard won’t get answered, sometimes.”

I then thought that, I’ve been a Muslim for almost years now since I was born, but I didn’t have the opportunity to grow my spiritual being. Maybe it was my upbringing, but as much as I would like, I don’t want to blame anyone from this thing that had happen. Previous years, I wanted to do all that stuff that was mentioned by Queenie, and successfully, some of them were already made possible by a lot of efforts on my part, yet the world is much stronger. I always felt that my heart and my mind is very innocence to be influence by other feelings, and my most fearless enemy is no other than myself. How can I defeat this kind of enemy? (This is what I had asked myself.) In Islamic perspective, your other self is what they call “nafs”, and in English term, the other side of yourself is your “EGO”. Some of the human beings when they have something done that are wrong; occasionally they can’t stop their self from doing it. I could say the EGO part is much stronger. I want to defeat this kind of thing in me, but my enemy is much stronger than me. It’s like I am being held up until I choke down when some factors suddenly came up, and my heart beat faster than the usual beating and I hate it. Every day I would like try to force myself to do something, because if I won’t, I will only trap myself in this thing called cage of life. I don’t know when will be the day that I will completely forget about this world desire, but I am hoping that Allah (swt) will enlighten me and bring some people in my life that would help and understand me in defeating this kind of enemy.

There are those times, where I always wanted to search for a school for Islamic studies far from home to force myself, but to no avail I didn’t find anything. Ya Rabb, let me find my own destiny to feel and answer my prayers and give me wisdom that I needed. Fulfill what my heart desire in terms of spirituality, and change this sadness deep inside into an enlighten one that hope it will change me forever.

Below this is a video that I would like to share to everyone out there, who is also looking for an answer that they would like to achieve and make this sadness of life goes away.

From the Signs of the Hour is People competing with one another in construction high buildings!

Abu Hurairah related that the Messenger of Allah (s.w.a) said, “The hour will not arrive until the people vie with one another in constructing tall buildings. And the Hour will not arrive until two huge groups, each having the same claim, fight, and between them there will be a great amount of killing; and the hour will not arrive until knowledge will seized, earthquakes increase in frequency, time converges, trial appear(or become widespread), and killing increases in frequency; and the Hour will not arrive until lying Dajjaals are sent, almost 30 of them, and each one of them will claim that he is the Messenger of Allah. And the Hour will not arrive until a man passes the grave of another man and says, ‘Would that I were in his place.’ And the hour will not arrive until the sun rises from its west, and when it does rise (from the west) and people see it, they will all believe, except that that is when ‘no good will it do to a person to believe then, if he believed not before, nor earned good (by performing deeds of righteousness) through his Faith.’ And the Hour will not arrive until there will be much wealth among you, to the degree that the owner of wealth will be distressed to find one who accepts his charity.” (Bukharee) Muslim related it from Abu Hurairah as well, but through a different chain of narrators.

The Forthcoming of Al-Dajjal, or known as “The Antichrist”!

A friend of mine just handed me a copy of “the arrival” that composed of 51 episodes that tells more about this new world order by the Americans, the coming of the anti-christ or al-dajjal, the signs, the preparation that this people in power prepared for the coming of their lord (Al-Dajjal) or the secret socities as they may call it, the view of the people towards arabs, etc. This documentaries as they may call them were full of truth that can be seen anywhere, and you can realize something at the end of every episodes. Though I have just watched 20 episodes out of 51, it makes me conclude things that I couldn’t have known a few years ago and tell to myself “how true it is”, and I’m still on process of watching the whole episodes. This is an eye opener for the people, and this is not only applicable for the Muslims, but also to all monotheistic religions around the world.

“The humans are living their lives out accordingly on what they believe in. They want to see what they’d like to see, but turns away from the truth cause they could not take the truth. So, they make things in order to cover up the reality of truth.” –a realization I came up after watching few of its episodes.

I haven’t known about the story of Al-dajjal, until I met someone during my journey at the holy land during the year 2009 and spoke of its story to me. I was shocked about the details she gave to me, since I never heard about it from any people around me nor during my high school years. Out of my curiosity, I have searched about the forthcoming of this persona that was being foretold. I searched some books during my stay there at Makkah and found a book entitled “The book of end: Great Trials & Tribulations” authored by A-Hafiz Ibn Katheer Dimashqi, in this book contains every sign of the coming of the end of this world, and this includes the forthcoming of the Al-dajjal. It was given the every bit details about this persona, and I wanted to share them to you, and below here were some information about this al-dajjal.

  1. Mu’aadh ibn Jabal (r.a) related that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said, “The inhabitation (or development) of Jerusalem is the ruin of Yathrib (Madeenah); the great massacre (leads to) the conquering of Constantinople; and the conquering of Constantinople (leads to) the coming out of the Dajjal.” (The ruin of Madeenah; it is referring to the end of times)
  2. Abdullah ibn Busr (r.a) related that the Prophet (s.a.w) said, “Between the carnage(killing) and the conquering of Al-Madeenah (i.e Constantinople) are six years; and then Ad-Dajjal will come out in the seventh (year)” (p. 82-83)
  3. Jaabir (r.a) related that he heard the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) say “Indeed before the Hour there are liars; among them is the one of Himyar. Also among them is Ad-dajjal, he creates the most Fitnah (trials and tribulations).” (p.83)
  4. Abu Hurairah (r.a) related that the Prophet (s.a.w) said, “The Hour will not arrive until almost Thirty Dajjal Liars are sent; each one of them will claim that he is the Messenger of Allah; wealth will increase and flow in abundance; the tribulations will occur; and there will occur tumult  and much Haraj (killings)”. (p.84)
  5. Ibn ‘Umar said “By Allah, I heard the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) say: Al-Maseeh Ad-dajjal and thirty liars or more will indeed come before the Day of Judgement.” (ahmad) (P.84)
  6. Annas ibn Maalik (r.a) related that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said, “Indeed, before the Ad-Dajjal there are deceptive years- the truthful one will not be believed, the liar will be believed, the trustworthy one will be accused of betrayal, the treacherous one will be trusted, and the Ruwaibidah will speak”. It is said, “And what is the Ruwaibidah?” He (s.a.w) said, “The base wicked-doer, he will speak the affairs of general public (he will be trusted to rule and he will speak by the name of the people).” Ahmad (p.85)
  7. Saalim then related that Abdullah Ibn ‘Umar (r.a) said, “The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) then stood before the people; he (s.a.w) praised Allah (s.w.t) with (praises) that are suitable to His (Greatness and Majesty). He (s.a.w) then mentioned the Dajjal, saying, “Indeed I am warning you. There was no Prophet except that he warned his people (about Ad-Dajjal). Verily, Noah (allaihi salam) warned his people about him, but I will say to you something about him that no Prophet said to his people –know that he is one-eyed, and that indeed, Allah (s.w.t) is not one eyed.” Muslim. (p.87)
  8. Ibn Shihaab related from ‘Umar ibn Ath-Thaabit Al-Ansaree that some of the Prophet’s Companions informed him that, “One day, the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) warned the people about the Dajjal, saying, ‘Indeed, Kaafir is written between his eyes. Everyone who hates his deeds will read it or every believer will read it.” And he (s.a.w) said, “Learn that not a single one from you will see his Lord until he dies.’” (p.87)
  9. He (s.a.w) said, “Indeed Allah (s.w.t) is not one-eyed, but the Maseeh Ad-Dajjal is indeed one-eyed, from the right eye, which is like a floating grape.” (Bukharee) (p.87)
  10. Hudhaifah (r.a) related that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said, “I know more about what the Dajjal has with him than he himself knows. With him are two flowing rivers; in the vision of the eye, the first one is white water; in the vision of the eye, the second one is burning fire. If he (i.e Dajjal) reaches one of you, then let him go to the one he sees as being fire and let him close his eyes. Then let him bend his head and drink, for it is indeed cold water. And the Dajjal has an eye that is obliterated; over it is coarse skin (that covers the eye). Written between his eyes is “kaafir” which every believer will read, regardless of whether he is literate or illiterate.” (Muslim) Ibn Mas’ood (r.a) said, “And I heard it from the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w).” Bukharee related the same from Sho’bah. (p.88)

The things that were written above were some information concerning on the coming of Al-Dajjal. There are lot of information regarding on the subject that was written in the “Book of the End”. As a fellow student of life, I recommend you to read about this book because it will enrich your knowledge more about the coming of THE HOUR. I haven’t totally finished reading this book and it needs a lot of re-reading in order to understand it thoroughly, and Insha Allah I will finish reading it, or should I say re-reading this book.

Going Back!

As I continued reading an Islamic book, I came too missed the day when I got the opportunity to go to Saudi Arabia for a pilgrimage last 2009. It was astonishing going there solely for praying, and pleasing HIM. As I read them it came partially my memory when I was there, the feeling of satisfaction, the feeling of easiness, and the feeling of being thankful to be in this religion. I was thinking when will be the day I’ll be going back there? Maybe if Allah’s will, I’ll be surely feel the sensation of going there again if I’ll be back in the place of the City of Light and in the Holy Mosque. The other day, I was thinking of going there to study, somehow, just partially reading books while doing nothing here in the office made me realize how good it was studying to the place where most of the historical site where at. Probably, it will give sense of liking more and more the religion of your own. How I wish I’ll be motivated to do something as these.

Angelic Young German Like Descends From The Sky

Every time I hear something like this reminds me of Ka’aba, the day I got the chance to visit there last 2009. It was really a great experience. I still remember the first time I got there. Right now, i wanted to cry because of the feeling that I regret, and of the person I’ve became right now. I want to say sorry to my one only creator. If this is a punishment then let it be. Ya Allah, I am sorry for whatever mistakes I always committed upon you. How I wish I can wake up the next morning as a change person, whose heart and mind will always be with you. Oh Ya Allah! You know whats inside my heart and whats inside me. How I wish I can fight my other self. Ya Allah, guide me…v.v

Reading as a tool!

I was then reading a blogs from a blogger which caught my attentions that made me think of how true what she was saying.  She then pointed out there in her blog about how important is reading in writing some articles and conveying your feeling to other people through your words in a rightly manner. Without reading, your writing ability is really at stakes. I am not really a very nerd person who loves to read. I collected some books but I really not really into reading them. I just go to a national book store buying some books, but I never really into reading them. I just want them there in my shelves but not looking at them a bit. I don’t know the reason why am I collecting books, but I couldn’t stop from buying those books.  I love watching movies, mostly anime series…and it is indeed there’s a consequence on this matter. You can read my blogs entitled “Television, is it for teaching or deception?” in order to go into details about this. I was now a bit of being sooooooo lazy, that is started to stop everything at work in my life, even reading! I always tell to myself  “what’s the point in reading, when I couldn’t even remember it later on and couldn’t describe them to other people?” My memory is really at the minimum level, I just could remember how my husband always describes it as a piece of junk because there is nothing to it. That is something so bad for me. I am poor in remembering things, and my concentration really sucks. I am a bit self abusive to myself from my day to day living! Which I couldn’t help it.

Going back into reading as a tool, it really is something important. When you are craving in writing good stories about things in your life, and wanted to share them, and make other people enjoy reading your blogs or write ups, the best way is to deal with the reading stuff, and then READ! Through reading other sources and other experiences  of people, you will then gain expriences that you could also apply it in yours. In the religion Islam, the word “READ” or “IKRA” was the first revelation by Allah (swt) to our dear beloved Prophet (s.a.w). This was being told to the Prophet (s.a.w) three times. This revelation happen when he was in the mount Hira during Ramadhan at the age of 41. Below is a narration from his wife Aisha bint Abu Bakr:

The Cave of Hira where Muhammad would meditate

Forerunners of the Revelation assumed the form of true visions that would strikingly come true all the time. After that, solitude became dear to him and he would go to the cave, Hira, to engage in devotion there for a certain number of nights before returning to his family, and then he would return for provisions for a similar stay. Unexpectedly, the angel Jibra’il came to Muhammad and asked him to read. The Prophet replied, “I do not know how to read”. The Prophet added, “The angel caught me (forcefully) and pressed me so hard that I could not bear it any more. He then released me and again asked me to read and I replied, “I do not know how to read.” Thereupon he caught me again and pressed me a second time till I could not bear it any more. He then released me and again asked me to read but again I replied, “I do not know how to read (or what shall I read)?” Thereupon he caught me for the third time and pressed me, and then released me and said:

Then Allah’s Apostle returned with the inspiration and with his heart beating severely. Then he went to Khadija bint Khuwailid and said, “Cover me! Cover me!” They covered him till his fear was over and after that he told her everything that had happened and said, “I fear that something may happen to me.” Khadija replied, “Never! By Allah, Allah will never disgrace you. You keep good relations with your Kith and kin, help the poor and the destitute, serve your guests generously and assist the deserving calamity-afflicted ones. (source:

The meaning that the message portait by the lord of the universe give us an idea how important it was. However, some of the people in this world such as I am, is depriving ourself from learning many things along the pages of the book because we’ve been busy in so many things. We didn’t even tried to make an effort. Maybe this will also be a reminder to myself, how reading should become a part of my daily living. Will it be nice if I could share something to you guys, about something that I have read? I can’t promise you this but let me try doing it. I wont promise, because I am afraid it would be just a hearsay.

So, in every child and household they should be learning the habit of reading. You will never know what will be  the good effect doing this. Of course, upon doing so and learning stuff in a certain topic, learn to write your opinion and share them.

      READ!  READ!   READ!
