Ask Me…

I am not fund of celebrating Halloween dear Daily Prompt. However, since I see and observe some couple of people around in my workplace during celebrating this occassion, I guess I can join in with your daily dose for the day! Let see, If I know how to design a web, probably I would like to design my blog into something not so scarry thing, I guess a tinker bell and fairies will do sparkling some glitter dust whomever open my page and be interested reading all my blogs. I don’t like putting so many scary stuff due to the reason that I don’t want to scare myself with those things. I would also like to put a picture of me with a fairy custom just like the picture below.

As a price for visiting my blogs, I would be willing to grant whatever wishes they want me to ask, as long as it doesn’t go beyond moral and only in the blog domain. For example, if you want to make me read something of your work and wanted some criticism, I would like to do so. So, it’s an opportunity for those readers who would visit my site to ask me whatever questions, they would had in mind.

Happy Bloggings

Zumba on Breast Cancer Awareness

Its Breast Cancer Awareness month, guys! Sometimes, it’s a good thing to be in good use, where in, blending your hobby in helping people through Zumba. I was then invited by a friend of mine from Aero Jazz Fit class in today’s hataw at Iligan City Plaza. The main purpose of this is to support the BCAM (Breast Cancer Awareness Month). It started earlier this morning 5:30-6:30 AM Saturday, October 5, 2013. Most of the participants wore their pink dress as a sign of support in this noble activity that spare headed by the councilor Merlin Young.

Let’s get an over view in relation to this month. What is this?  In accordance to wikipedia’s information, Breast cancer awareness is an effort to raise awareness and reduce the stigma of breast cancer through education on symptoms and treatment. Supporters hope that greater knowledge will lead to earlier detection of breast cancer, which is associated with higher long-term survival rates, and that money raised for breast cancer will produce a reliable, permanent cure.

brest cancer awqareness            Breast cancer advocacy and awareness efforts are a type of health advocacy. Breast cancer advocates raise funds and lobby for better care, more knowledge, and more patient empowerment. They may conduct educational campaigns or provide free or low-cost services. Breast cancer culture, sometimes called pink ribbon culture, is the cultural outgrowth of breast cancer advocacy, the social movement that supports it, and the larger women’s health movement.

The Aero Jazz support this kind of activity in order to advocate what is rightful to the woman all over the world that threatens ALL women, no matter what color, age or creed. As you can see in the above picture, there are so many Iliganons who supported this event, hoping for a better care for those people who have this disease.

            Cancer is a serious illness. This is a broad group of various diseases, all involving unregulated cell growth. According to awaernessdepot.com, in cancer, cells divide and grow uncontrollably, forming malignant tumors, and invade nearby parts of the body. The cancer may also spread to more distant parts of the body through the lymphatic system or bloodstream. Not all tumors are cancerous. Benign tumors do not grow uncontrollably, do not invade neighboring tissues, and do not spread throughout the body. There are over 200 different known cancers that afflict humans, and one of them is this breast cancer. There are so many things that are known to increase the risk of this cancer and the following involves here;

  1. Tobacco use
  2. Certain infections
  3. Radiation
  4. Lack of physical activity
  5. Obesity
  6. Environmental pollutants

In the Philippines, we are not safe in this kind of unacceptable disease. To give a ratio on this matter, 1 out of 13 women in the Philippines will get a breast cancer. As Rosa Francia-Meneses quoted from her 1999 World Conference on Breast Cancer, Ottawa which goes:

“The greatest risk of getting breast cancer tomorrow is being born today in a developing country.

The greatest risk of not surviving breast cancer today is being a woman in the Philippines.”

Let’s see the some fact documented by the Philippine Breast Cancer Network.

Fact # 1       All women are at risk. Approximately 70% of breast cancers occur in women with none of the known risk factors.

Fact # 2      Only about 5% of breast cancers are inherited. About 80% of women diagnosed with breast cancer will be the first  to be victims in their families.

Fact # 3       Early detection does NOT prevent breast cancer. Avoiding and eliminating known causes will prevent breast cancer!

Fact # 4       Mammography fails to detect as much as 20% of all breast cancer and as much as 40% in women under the    age of 50.

Fact # 5        One out of four who are diagnosed with breast cancer die within the first five years. No less than 40% die within ten years.

Fact # 6       Risk factors are not necessarily causes of breast cancer. Enough evidence exist linking environmental pollution and contamination to cause breast cancer.

Fact # 7       The global incidence of breast cancer has tremendously risen by 256% the past 30 years with Southeast Asia  increasing by 479%!   And the supposed authorities and experts that should know don’t know why.

Fact # 8       Breast cancer is the leading killer of women ages 35 to 54 worldwide. More than a million women develop breast cancer   without knowing it and almost 500,000 die from it every year.

Fact # 9       1 out of 13 Filipno women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. The province of Pampanga has the highest incidence rate in the entire country.

Fact # 10    The Philippines has the highest incidence rate of breast cancer in Asia and registered the highest increase of 589% among 187 countries over a 30 year period from 1980 to 2010.

I never known of this disease until I meet someone who has it during the time I went off for a pilgrimage to Mecca, last 2009. I forgot her name, but she did struggle in this disease for so many years. She did sacrifice her left strength to perform the spiritual obligation in Islam. Usually, performing this spiritual journey, you need to put lot of efforts and strength especially you are with so many crowded people from different nations all over the world. When she is performing the needed activities, she usually covers her breast as to be cautious from accident touch or something by other people. One time, she did mention that, the money that she paid for hajj was supposedly to be use in her medication saved by her siblings for her. But he did choose to spend it in this spiritual journey, which is a highly honorable for her to choose this special thing for religion. We can see her struggle on that time, and gladly she made it surviving it going back home seeing her own family. A big miracle for her. However, her disease didn’t stop there. A few months after, she did die from that illness. I did hear this from my co-pilgrimage that year. For me, I am amazed with the courage and strength shown by those people having a breast cancer. I know the pain because I felt it through the story of that woman I did mention.

Hope this advocates will lead to a much better cure, medication, services and needs of those woman who are affected by this disease.

My Place of thoughts: BLOGGINGS!

I never plan on writing a blogs, but the fact that I love putting my mind in words made me very interested in writing what’s inside my head. It is hard keeping all your thoughts just inside your head, and its quite better to make them into words and share it to the world.

blogs                    I did start my bloggings more than one and half year ago. There is that class that I did attend to here in Iligan, because it was free. I entered here due to the fact that I would like to expand my interest and learn something new. It becomes a one of diversion in my worries in everyday life. That class was all about Search Engine Optimization, more or less on internet marketing. On that day, I did not know what it was all about. The teacher introduces me about word press, about submitting links to other websites, pinning, and a lot of stuff which I do not understand. The most wonderful thing that they did share to me is this word press. I did think that “finally!” I could have my own area to set my mind free into a site which I could possibly share it to the world. From then on, I did write some of thoughts.

Before this site was being introduced to me, I have my facebook to write all my thoughts. However, I thought it isn’t enough. Facebook has a limited feature in terms of bloggings, and somehow I am not very comfortable there stating all my stuff. When this word press got introduced to me, all my hormones inside my head suddenly popped out and loved the idea of putting them here. So, as the days goes on, I explored some of the blogs written by different people from different walks of life, and they made me more interested in writing. I am amazed about their experiences, ideas, thoughts and became excited on the things they are going to share.

Now, I am doing this bloggings out of my interest or as a hobby. Grammar is very important, but somehow I don’t master them. So, please if anyone who notice something on my writings kindly tell them to me. I appreciate those people who see my mistake and tell them to me. It is such a nice thing to know something you don’t know. As a part of being hobby, blogging become one of my therapies from thinking many stuff. It did bring out the things that I needed to say. I am a slow blogger, so please have patient with me. Usually, I do bloggings when I am in the mood to write what’s inside my head.  Of course, I do love to make money out of it but I guess I need more time in knowing more of this thing.
